Have a look at Filenet 5 new updated features:
1. Content Engine will supoort more object store as u increased JVMs (32 bit---70JVMs and 64bits --- 150)
2. FileNet Deployment Manager changed a lot in terms of multi environment support, more object stores, new functionality to install more components like eForms deployment.Using DM, we can switch object stores from one P8 domain to other without physically movement of data/content
3. Now content can be encrypted to avaoid unauthorized access in filenet storage area.
4. More Java and .Net APIs.

ReplyDeletewhat level of java and database(Oracle) you need to know to provide third level support for FileNet P8? My company uses java API. I took academic classes in Java but not direct work experiences. Please advise. Do you advise about learning plan or any training. Thank you.
basic java and ability to write sql statement is enough from this side...But from Filenet side....u need to understand Architecture and imp it's components like AE CE PE.....wht each does and how they are linked.....wht to do where to go...how to see logs etc.....Blog Awner

ReplyDeleteFor Java, I think, Core java n JSP/Servlet wld be enough...u can get thousands of tut by googling.....For Filenet, I must say u to search on ibm website...there are lots of pdf, which will give u a better idea abt CE/PE and some coding samples also...BlogOwner
